Program Description

Event Details

Kids in grades K-5 can come to the library to practice their reading skills with a gentle, furry friend! A registered therapy dog will listen calmly and quietly, creating a safe space for children to practice reading skills without fear or judgment. Learning to read out loud can be scary. A friendly face, particularly one with a wagging tail, can help ease reading jitters and build confidence.

Registration is not required. Each child will have a chance to read a book of their own choice. Bring a favorite or pick one from the library shelves.
