Join us for a meeting of the Own Voices Book Group. Each meeting, we will discuss a book by a diverse author. In September, we will discuss the Hugo Award nominated science fiction fantasy novel Light From Uncommon Stars by Ryka Aoki.

Aoki is a Japanese American transgender woman. She is the founder of the International Transgender Martial Arts Alliance, and volunteers helping LGBTQ youth. Light From Uncommon Stars delivers an adventure set in California's San Gabriel Valley, with cursed violins, Faustian bargains, and queer alien courtship over fresh-made donuts.
