Program Description
Event Details
By popular demand, Musicians of Ma'alwyck are returning to Bethlehem Public Library to perform music by legendary American composer David Amram as he turns 95. Listen to “Native American Portraits for Violin, Piano and Percussion” and “Greenwich Village Portraits for Saxophone and Piano. “
Musicians of Ma’alwyck was formed in 2000 by Ann-Marie Barker Schwartz to present music that might have been heard in early Albany. The group has expanded to include contemporary works, commissions, operas, and multidisciplinary performances, all informed by often overlooked history. Musicians of Ma’alwyck have produced numerous concerts, provided performance opportunities for up-and-coming and established musicians, and are a key part of the thriving Capital Region arts scene.
This event is generously sponsored by the Friends of Bethlehem Public Library.
