Coffee and Conversation is co-sponsored by Bethlehem Senior Projects, Inc. and this four-part series is grant funded by Humanities New York.

This series aims to educate participants on the military science of the American Civil War through a selection of primary texts from US history. Topics of discussion will include secession, the inner-workings of the Lincoln administration, emancipation, Union and Confederate military strategies, Civil War era weapons and technologies, and a selection of the war’s major battles and campaigns. Participants will walk away from this program more familiar with the American Civil War and empowered to learn more about US military history on their own.

Audience participation is both welcome and encouraged! Please feel free to bring questions for open discussion.
