Climate change is increasingly affecting our planet and its inhabitants. Despite a strong consensus within the scientific community about humanity’s role in climate change, the implementation of adaption and mitigation measures to curb greenhouse gas emissions has proven very difficult. In this presentation we will take a closer look at the main impacts of climate change, both locally and globally. A main point of discussion will focus on how we might be able to reduce our vulnerability by transforming our infrastructure and energy production, despite the existing technological, socioeconomic, and political challenges.
Presented by University at Albany Professor of Atmospheric and Environmental Science, Mathias Vuille.
