Description of Program: Native place names reveal that the Town of Bethlehem lay in a contested region in the 17th Century. Historic documentation is scarce, but careful analysis of what is available can tell us much about a nearly vanished world. Join us for this presentation to get a glimpse of the Bethlehem area in the era before Euro-American settlement.

Speaker Bio: Justin Wexler founded Wild Hudson Valley in 2014 to teach about the rich history of the region through walks, workshops, forest farmed products and eco-camping which brings the past into the present. As a life-long resident of the Hudson Valley, Justin has devoted his life to sharing his love for the natural world. He has studied Algonquian languages, history and folklore for two decades. He has a BA in History & Anthropology from Marlboro College, Vt., a Professional Certificate in Environmental Policy, and a Masters of Arts in Teaching from Bard College.

About This Series: The Town of Bethlehem Historical Association (BHA) has been incorporated as a not-for-profit membership organization since 1965. Along with upkeep of collections and exhibits at the Cedar Hill Schoolhouse Museum at 1003 River Rd. Selkirk, the BHA is pleased to continue it's long tradition of presenting fall and spring series of talks by distinguished local speakers on a variety of topics designed to stimulate an appreciation of our historic heritage. We're delighted to have the opportunity to partner with the Bethlehem Public Library in our complementary roles of providing information and enhancing learning and enriching the cultural life of our community.

PLEASE REGISTER EACH INDIVIDUAL SEPARATELY. We cannot hold two seats for one registration.
